Ingredients :

Basmati rice - 300
gms
Sliced onion -1
Garlic -5 pods
Ginger - small piece
Green chillies- 2
Coriander leaves -
1/2 cup
Pudina leaves - 1/2
cup
Cinnamon -small
piece
Bay leaf - 1
Star anise - 1 pcs
Cloves -2
Poppy seeds - 1 tspn
Coconut milk - 2 cup
diluted
Coriander powder - 1
tspn
Turmeric powder -
little pinch
Ghee - needed
Oil -needed
Cashew nuts to
garnish
For grinding :

(soaked for 1/2 an hour)

Method :
- Heat a cooker with ghee and oil saute with cloves, bay leaf, star anise and cinnamon.
- Add sliced onion and coriander powder and saute well.
- Add grinded paste and saute well.
- Add salt to taste, little turmeric powder,2 cups of coconut milk and boil it well.
- Add the soaked basmati rice and cook for 1 whistle.
- Plain biryani is ready.
- Serve with any non-veg gravies.
- Garnish with roasted nuts and roasted onion.
