Mutton Biryani Recipe

Mutton Biryani Recipe
Ingredients :

Mutton -1/2 kg
Basmati rice -1/2 kg
Ginger-Garlic paste -2 tspn
Sliced onion -3 (Big size)
Tomato -3
Green chillies -2
Pepper powder -1/2 tspn
Cinnamon ,cloves -2 pcs
Ghee -3 tspn
Oil -2 tspn
Turmeric powder -1/4 tspn
Chilli powder -3/4 tspn
Curd -1 cup
Poppy seeds -1 tspn
Coriander leaves -1/2 cup
Food colour -needed (OPTIONAL)
Salt to taste

Heat a pan with oil and ghee.

  • Add cinnamon, cloves and saute well.

  • Add sliced onion, ginger garlic paste and saute well.

  • Add sliced tomato,green chillies and saute well.

  • Add chopped coriander and saute well.

  • Add mutton pieces and saute well.

  • On cooking of the mutton add turmeric,pepper powder,chilli powder and add salt to taste.

  • Grind poppy seeds and add curd and mix well.( Soak poppy seeds in water for 1/2 an hour before grinding)

  • Add this to the mutton mixture and saute well.

  • Add soaked basmati rice and mix well.

  • Add soaked basmati rice and add 4  cups of water and allow for 3 whistle.

  • Yummy spicy mutton biryani is ready.

 Garnish with fried cashews 

Serve with Egg and Raitha

Method:

  • Wash and drain the Mutton.
  • Soak the basmati with water, drain the water and keep aside for 15 mints.
  • Meantime heat a pan with oil and ghee.
  • Add cinnamon, cloves and saute well.
  • Add sliced onion, ginger garlic paste,tomato,green chillies and saute well.
  • Add chopped coriander and saute well.
  • Add mutton pieces and saute well.
  • On cooking of the mutton add turmeric,pepper powder,chilli powder and add salt to taste.
