Ingredients :

Maida flour

Baking powder

1/2 tspn

Egg

Vanilla essence

Method :

- Take the egg and separate white from yellow yolk.
- Keep the yellow yolk and white yolk in a separate bowls.
- With a electric beater beat the white yolk thoroughly to foamy nature. Like that beat the yellow yolk also.
- Beat the butter and keep aside.
- Sieve Maida added with baking powder twice.
- Grind the sugar.
- Add flour with butter and mix well to lumps free.
- Add gradually white yolk followed by yellow yolk and mix thoroughly.
- Add essence.
- Add grinded sugar and mix well.
- Grease the cake tray with little butter.
- Preheat the oven to 180 deg C for 10 minutes.
- Pour the mixture to the greased tray and place the tray in oven.
- Set 180 deg C and bake it for 35 minutes.
- Don't open the oven while baking.
- After 35 mints open the oven and insert a tooth pick on the surface of the cake to check whether the cake is fully baked.(If the tooth pick comes out clean without any substance that indicates, the cake is fully baked. If it is not allow baking for 5 more minutes)
- Take the cake out of the oven and cool on a wire rack.
- Delicious yummy spongy cake is ready.
