Ingredients :

- Wash and clean the avarakkai. cut it into thin pieces.
- Heat a pan add little oil and saute mustard, urud dhal, curry leaves.
- Add chopped onion and saute well.

Onion - 1 small

Mustard seeds -
1/4 tspn
|
Urud dhal - 1/4
tspn
|
Oil needed
|
Salt to taste
|
Curry leaves
needed

For grinding :

Grated coconut -
1/2 cup
|
Chilli Powder -1/2
tspn
|
Turmeric powder -
1/4 tspn
|
Cumin seed - 1/2
tspn
|
Garlic pod - 4 nos
|
Method :

- Wash and clean the avarakkai. cut it into thin pieces.
- Heat a pan add little oil and saute mustard, urud dhal, curry leaves.
- Add chopped onion and saute well.
- Add avarakkai and sprinkle little water. Add salt to taste saute till raw smell goes off.
- Meantime grind the ingredients listed for grinding in a coarse form.
- Add grinded masala and mix well.
- Saute for few minutes in a low flame.
- Avarakkai thoran is ready to serve.
- Ideal for rice.
