Ingredients:

Anchovies/Nethili Meen -1/2 kg
Grated coconut -1/2 cup
Small onion -6 pcs
Red chillies -3 or Chilli Powder – ½ tspn
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tspn
Tamarind liquid -needed
Sliced Raw Mango-7 pcs
Drumstick-10 pcs (cut pieces)
Green chilli – 1nos
Coconut oil -4 tspn
Curry leaves needed
Method:

- Cut the head and tail of the fish.
- Wash and clean the fish and keep aside.
- Grind all the ingredients except tamarind (grated coconut, small onion, red chilli or chilli powder, little curry leaves, turmeric powder)
- Add water to form liquid.
- Add tamarind water and salt to taste.
- Add sliced raw mango and drumstick pieces and sliced green chilli.
- The fish curry should taste sour and little spicy.
- Heat the mud pot with the content and cook for some time.
- Add fish to it and cook for some time.
- Finally add coconut oil and half handful of curry leaves and close the lid and boil in a low flame for 2 mints.
- When you open the lid the oil should be floating on the top.
- Now the Fish curry is ready.
- Switch off the stove.
- Ideal for Rice and Idly.
(The leftovers fish curries can be taken on
the next day too...it would taste yummmy)
