Ingredients :

Mutton -1/2 kg

Basmati rice -1/2
kg
|
Ginger-Garlic
paste -2 tspn
|
Sliced onion -3
(Big size)
|
Tomato -3
|
Green chillies -2
|
Pepper powder -1/2
tspn
|
Cinnamon ,cloves
-2 pcs
|
Ghee -3 tspn
|
Oil -2 tspn
|
Turmeric powder
-1/4 tspn
|
Chilli powder -3/4
tspn
|
Curd -1 cup
|
Poppy seeds -1
tspn
|
Coriander leaves
-1/2 cup
|
Food colour
-needed (OPTIONAL)
|
Salt to taste

Fried Cashews -needed

Method:

- Wash and drain the Mutton.
- Soak the basmati with water, drain the water and keep aside for 15 mints.
- Meantime heat a pan with oil and ghee.
- Add cinnamon, cloves and saute well.
- Add sliced onion, ginger garlic paste,tomato,green chillies and saute well.
- Add chopped coriander and saute well.
- Add mutton pieces and saute well.
- On cooking of the mutton add turmeric,pepper powder,chilli powder and add salt to taste.
- Grind poppy seeds and add curd and mix well.( Soak poppy seeds in water for 1/2 an hour before grinding)
- Add this to the mutton mixture and saute well.
- Add soaked basmati rice and add 4 cups of water and allow for 3 whistle.
- Yummy spicy mutton biryani is ready.
- Garnish with fried cashews.
- Serve with Egg and
Raitha .
