Vegetable pulao Recipe

Vegetable pulao Recipe

Cut all the vegetables in small pieces.

Clean coriander and pudina leaves.


  • Heat a pan add 2 tspns of ghee,1 tspn of oil  saute with bay leaf,cinnamon,cloves and star anise.

  • Add garam masala powder and saute well.

  • Add sliced onion,salt,ginger garlic paste and saute it well.


  • Fry the onion to golden brown and add the tomatoes and saute well.

  • Add grinded green chilli paste and saute well.

  • Add pudina,coriander leaves and saute well.

  • Add all the vegetables to the pan, add little amount of  2nd coconut milk(thin milk) and cook it for 1 whistle or 5 minutes.

Open the lid and add soaked rice to the mixture add,1st coconut milk(thick milk) required quantity of water (if needed)  and cook it in a rice cooker.

Veg pulao is ready ,serve with raita.


Vegetable pulao Recipe

Ingredients :

Basmati rice -2 cups

Onion -2 nos

Tomato -3 nos

Green chillies - 3 pcs
 
Carrot -2 nos

Beans -100 gms

Potato -1 big size

Butter beans -100 gm

Soya beans -100 gm

Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup

Mint leaves - 1/2 cup

Ginger-Garlic paste -1 tspn

Coconut milk -3 cup (2 cup thick milk,1 cup thin milk)

Garam masala powder - 1 tspn

Cloves -2

Star anise -1

Cinnamon -1 piece

Bay leaf - 1 nos

Ghee - needed

Oil - needed

Salt to taste
 

Preparation :

Cut all the vegetables in small pieces.

Clean coriander and pudina leaves.

Grind grated coconut and prepare 1st milk(thick milk) and 2nd milk(thin milk).

Prepare green chilli paste by grinding green chillies.

Soak basmati rice for 10 minutes, drain it and keep aside.

Sambar Sadam Recipe / Sambar Rice

Sambar Sadam Recipe / Sambar Rice with Vendakai( lady's finger) porial

In a pressure cooker add oil and saute with mustard,urud dhal and cumin seeds.

Add carrot,beans,drumstick,onion and saute for sometime.

Soak rice and thoor dhal for sometimes. Drain the water and add it to the vegetables.

Add turmeric,sambar powder,coriander powder and asafoetida.

 

Add 6 cup of water, salt to taste.

Cook it for 3 whistles.

 

Add ghee and serve. 

Sambar rice is ready .

Ingredients :

Rice -2 cups

Thoor dhal - 1/2 cup

Carrot,beans,drumstick -1 cup

Small onion -5 nos

Cumin seeds -1/4 tspn

Sambar powder -1 tspn

Coriander powder - 1 tspn

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn

Salt to taste

Gingelly oil -2 tspn

Ghee - 1tspn

Asafoetida -1 pinch

Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn

Urud dhal - 1/4 tspn


Method :

In a pressure cooker add oil and saute with mustard,urud dhal and cumin seeds.

Add carrot,beans,drumstick,onion and saute for sometime.

Soak rice and thoor dhal for sometimes. Drain the water and add it to the vegetables.

Add turmeric,sambar powder,coriander powder and asafoetida.

Add 6 cup of water, salt to taste.

Cook it for 3 whistles.

Add ghee and serve.

Sambar rice is ready .

Serve hot with Vendakai( lady's finger) porial or Potato roast or any other veg dish.

Its a easy and simple recipe to cook.

Ingredients :

Basmati rice - 1 cup


Carrot -2  medium size grated


Green chilli- 1 small size


Sliced Onion - 1 nos


Cloves - 2


Cinnamon - small piece


Bay leaf - 1 pcs


Ginger garlic paste - 1 tspn


Pepper powder - 1 /2 tspn


Garam masala - 1/2 tspn


Ghee - 2 tspn


Coriander leaves - few


Salt to taste



Method :

  • Cook the rice in the rice cooker and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan add 2 tspns of ghee saute with bay leaf,cloves,cinnamon.
  • Add garam masala powder and saute well.
  • Add sliced onions,salt,green chilli, ginger garlic paste ,coriander leaves and saute them till it become golden brown.

  • Add the grated carrot and saute until the raw smell goes away.
  • Add pepper powder, little salt and cook for sometime.

  • Now add the cooked rice and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot  with raita.

  • Heat a pan with little oil fry the items listed in the grinding and grind it to coarse form.

  • Heat a pan with oil saute with mustard,urud,red chilli,peanuts,Channa dhal  and curry leaves.

  • Now add tamarind water, turmeric powder,jaggery powder and salt and let it boil till the oil separates.

  • Add rice and stir well.

  • Finally add the grinded powder to the rice and mix well.

  • Now the puliyodharai is ready.

Left Over Rice / Steamed rice - 2cup

Tamarind water - 1/2 cup

Red chilli - 1 nos

Channa dhal -1 tspn

Peanuts roasted - 1 tspn

Curry leaves few

Jaggery powder - 1/2 tspn

Gingelly oil - 2 tspn

Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn

Urud dhal - 1/4 tspn


For grinding :

**********
Red chilli - 1 nos

Channa dhal -1 tspn

Fenugreek - 1tspn

Asafoetida - generous pinch

Coriander seeds - 1tspn


Method :

Plain Biryani Recipe / Kuska Biryani

Kuska Biryani is a very simple and easy recipe to make.

Grind ginger garlic,poppy seeds,coriander,pudina leaves and green chillies

Grind the coconut and take 2 cup diluted coconut milk.

  • Heat a cooker with ghee and oil saute with cloves, bay leaf, star anise and cinnamon.

  • Add sliced onion and coriander powder and saute well.

  • Add grinded paste and saute well.

  • Add salt to taste, little turmeric powder,2 cups of coconut milk and boil it well.


  • Add the soaked basmati rice and cook for 1 whistle.


  • Add the soaked basmati rice and cook for 1 whistle.

  • Plain biryani is ready.


Garnish with roasted nuts and onion.

  • Serve with any non-veg gravies.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED :


Basmati Rice -2 cups

cloves- 2 pcs

Bay leaf -1

cinnamon - 1 inch piece

small onion -200 gms

Tomato -250 gms

Ginger Garlic paste -1 tspn

Mint & coriander leaf - needed

chilli powder -1 tspn

coriander powder -1 tspn

curd -1 cup

salt -As needed

Ghee -As needed

chicken -1/2 kg

Preparation :

  • soak basmati rice for 15 minutes ...drain it and keep aside
  • chop small onion and tomato in to smaller pieces ..
  • Heat the pan with ghee and saute cinnamon,bay leaf,cloves ..
  • Add Ginger Garlic paste ..
  • Add onion ..fry to deep brown ..
  • Add tomato .. fry ..
  • Add Mint & coriander leaf ..
  • Add curd  ..
  • Add chilli powder & coriander powder ..
  • Add chicken and add salt to taste ..
  • Add required quantity of water and close the lid and cook ..
  • Open the pan and add basmati rice and required water (in the ratio 1:1.5)
  • Allow the cooker for 1 whistle and 5 minutes in simmer ..
  • Open the lid and mix it well ...
  • U can use either cooker or electric rice cooker ..
  • serve hot with onion raitha and chicken 65 ...

Tomato Pulao -  spicy finger chips roast

Ingredients needed :
 
Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Onion - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Ripe juicy tomatoes - 4 (medium size)

Green chillies - 3 (small ones)
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Chilli Powder - half tsp
Mint leaves - needed
Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp finely chopped
Salt as needed ghee - 3 tbsp
Bay leaf -1
Cloves -2
Cardamom -1, cashew nuts - needed
Cinnamon - 1 inch piece ..

  
 Method :

Soak basmati rice for 20 minutes, drain the water completely and keep it aside.If using pressure cooker, cook rice up-to 3 whistles ..if using rice cooker add 1 1/2 cup water or coconut milk as Ur wish ..
Chop tomatoes and cut onions lengthwise. Preparation : Heat a pressure cooker with ghee ,add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon and cardamon ,cashews. Fry for a few seconds and then add sliced onions.fry till onions become slightly golden brown, add ginger garlic paste and fry for a few more minutes.Then add chopped tomatoes and fry for a minute.,then add green chillies ,turmeric powder, chilli powder, mint leaves, half of coriander leaves, salt needed . Cook till tomatoes become mushy.Cook till oil separates.Add the cooked rice to the tomato gravy and mix well.Garnish with coriander leaves.....Serve with potato fry or raita.If using rice cooker, transfer the contents to a rice cooker, switch on and cook till done.
