Left Over Recipe - Rice Veg Pakoda / Left Over Rice Veg Pakoda

 Rice Veg Pakoda (Left Over Recipe)

Ingredients:

    Left over boiled rice - 1 cup
    Grated cabbage - 1/4 cup
    Carrot pieces - 1/4 cup
    Onion - 1 no
    Green chilli - 2 nos
    Besan flour / kadala maavu needed
    Ginger small piece
    Lime -1/2
    Coriander leaves needed
    Salt to taste
    Oil needed


Method :

  • In a bowl add grated cabbage, carrot, onion,green chilli,chopped ginger,coriander leaves with left over rice.

  • Add lime juice salt to taste and mix thoroughly.

  • Prepare besan flour batter.

  • Add the flour batter and mix well.
  • Heat a pan with oil and sprinkle the mixture with the help of ladle.

  • Deep fry to golden brown.

  • Rice veg pakoda is ready.

    Left over porial  - 1 cup ( preferably carrot beans porial)
    Potato -2 nos
    Garam masala powder - 1 tbspn
    Bajji bonda mix(ready made) -1/2 cup
    Salt to taste
    Oil needed
    Curry leaves needed


Method :
  • Cook the potato , peel off the skin and smash it well.

  • Add left over porial with potato,curry leaves and salt to taste.

  • Add garam masala and mix well.

  • Blend it and form small lemon size balls.

  • Prepare bajji bonda mix batter.

  • Dip the balls in the bajji batter and deep fry.

  • Veg bonda / Left over vegetable bonda is ready.

  • Boil ajwain seeds for 15 mints and drain the water.
  • Mix besan flour, rice flour,chilli,powder and asafoetida.
  • Mix besan flour, rice flour,chilli,powder,asafoetida and add ajwain seed water extract.
  • Add salt to taste and mix well.
Prepare the mix as like idiyappam dough consistency
  • Heat  a pan with oil.
  • Put the dough in the idiyappam press and press it in the oil as shown in the picture.
  • Fry it to golden brown and take out, drain the excess oil.
  • Crush it by hand and garnish with fried curry leaves.

  • Mix all the ingredients (except oil) to prepare a dough.
  • Cover it with soft cloth and keep aside for 15 mints.
  • Make balls out of the dough.
  • Roll them into thin layer.
  • Using pizza cutter, cut them into diamond shape as shown in the picture.

Sweet somas Recipe / Diwali Recipe / Somasi Recipe

Sweet somas Recipe / Somasi Recipe
  • Mix Maida, wheat flour and semolina.
  • Add little oil ,water and salt. Prepare the dough to chapatti batter consistency.
  • Roll the batter in small round shapes (poori form).
  • Take the somas mould , keep the rolled batter inside as shown in the figure, fill it with the mixture and closed the mould .

  • Now heat a pan with oil  dip the Somas roll to golden brown.

Grind roasted gram, sugar, cardamom into coarse form (rawa form) 

  • Heat a non-stick tawa add sesame, fry for 1 minute.
  • Add grated coconut, roast well.
  • Add the grinded roasted gram mixture and fry for sometime till the raw smell goes off.
  • Mix well the mixture, and keep the mixture in a airtight container.

    Grated coconut - 1 cup
    Black sesame seeds -25 gms
    Cardamom -4 nos

    Preparation of mixture for filling :

  • Grind roasted gram, sugar, cardamom into coarse form (rawa form)
  • Heat a non-stick tawa add sesame, fry for 1 minute.
  • Add grated coconut, roast well.
  • Add the grinded roasted gram mixture and fry for sometime till the raw smell goes off.
  • Mix well the mixture, and keep the mixture in a airtight container.
