SeppanKizhangu Roast /Arbi /Taro Root Roast /Colocasia Roast Recipe


This is an easy and tasty recipe, kids loved this very much.My mom never used to cook seppankizhangu varieties. I just tasted these varieties at one of my close friend's house.It tastes Yummmy ...Loved it...Here is the Recipe...

 

SeppanKizhangu Roast

Wash and boil seppakizhangu with 1/2 cup of water and little salt in a cooker for 1 whistle.

  • Drain it and Peel off the skin.

  • Add sambar powder,turmeric,chilli,rice flour,salt,asafoetida and mix well and keep aside for 10 minits.

Heat a non-stick pan with little oil,add the marinated seppankizhangu and roast until it become golden brown and crisp.

  • Seppankizhangu roast is ready to serve. 

  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

    Seppakizhangu /Colocasia   -250 gms(small size)
    Sambar powder -1/2 tspn
    Chilli powder - 1/4 tspn
    Turmeric powder -1/4 tspn
    Rice flour -1/4 tspn
    Salt to taste
    Oil to fry
    Coriander for garnish
    Asafoetida -a pinch

Chicken Roast Recipe


Chicken Roast


Marinate the chicken pieces for 3 hrs.

Heat the kadai with oil and deep fry the chicken in a low flame till golden brown & crisp.

    Chicken -2 pcs (wing pieces)
    Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
    Turmeric powder -1/4 tspn
    Pepper powder -1/4 tspn
    Corn flour -1/2 tspn
    Rice flour -1/4 tspn
    Ginger - Garlic paste - 2 tspn
    Lime juice - 2 tspn
    Kesari powder - a pinch
    Curd -3 tspn
    Salt to taste
    Coconut oil to fry


    Method :

  • Mix the ingredients to a smooth masala paste.
  • Marinate the chicken pieces for 3 hrs.
  • Heat the kadai with oil and deep fry the chicken in a low flame till golden brown & crisp.
  • Spicy chicken roast is ready to serve.
  • If u wish garnish with roasted onions and curry leaves.

  • Its an easy recipe and this chicken roast goes well with fried rice and pulao.

Prepare mini idly

  • Heat a pan with little ghee and saute with mustard,urud dhal, asafoetida add the grinded paste and small idlys and mix well.                                          

    Keep in a low flame for few minutes and serve hot.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves

    Oil needed
    Salt to taste

Ingredients :

Sankara fish/ Red snapper -3 nos(medium size)
Tamarind pulp -1 1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder -1/2 tspn
Coriander seeds-1/2 tspn
Cumin seeds-1/2 tspn
Dry red chilli -2 nos
Cinnamon -1 pcs
Corn flour -1 tspn
Curry leaves needed
Salt to taste
Coconut oil needed


    For grinding :

    ***********
    Coriander -1/2 tspn
    Cumin -1/2 tspn
    Dry red chilli -2 nos
    Cinnamon  - 1 pcs


Method of preparation:

  • Wash and clean the fish pieces well.
  • Heat a pan with little oil, add coriander,cumin,dry chilli, cinnamon and fry well.
  • Grind the masala and add required salt, turmeric powder to the tamarind pulp and mix well.Masala paste is ready.

  • Coat the masala paste evenly on the fish.
  • Spray corn flour above the fish and marinate the fish tikka for 1/2 an hour and fry in a dosa tawa with little oil.

  • Fry well in a low flame till golden brown & crisp.
  • Fish tikka is ready.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and sliced onions.
  • Serve it with rice and rasam.
  • Adding corn flour fish tikka will be crispy.

Rava Dosa Recipes

 Rava dosa is a popular South Indian Recipe...

Crispy Rava Dosa with coconut chutney and sambar

Cut green chillies, ginger in to small pieces.

Prepare batter with maida,rice flour and rava.

Heat a pan with little oil, add green chilli,ginger,cumins,curry leaves, pepper and fry well. Add this to the batter.

Add salt to taste.

Heat a non-stick tawa and spread the batter to make rava dosa.Sprinkle little oil around the dosa.

Keep the dosa in a low flame till it becomes crispy and golden brown. Then turn the dosa to the other side.

Crispy rava roast is ready to serve.

Maida flour - 1 cup

Rice flour - 1/4 cup

Rava - 2 1/2 cups

Green chillies - 1 chopped

Grated ginger -1 tspn

Cumin seeds - 1 tspn

Whole black pepper - 1 tspn

Salt to taste

Curry leaves needed

Gingelly oil needed

Prawn Kuruma / Shrimp kuruma


Heat the pot with little oil, add 1/2 tspn of fennel seeds, curry leaves, green chillies with onion, ginger garlic paste and saute well.

Add sliced onion, tomato salt and saute well.


Add coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, little salt,cleaned prawns and saute well.


Add 1/4 cup of thin coconut milk to the mixture and boil it for 5 mints.


Let the mixture becomes thick, add the thick coconut milk and cook it for sometimes.

Heat in a low flame and let the gravy becomes semi solid

Kuska Biryani is a very simple and easy recipe to make.

Grind ginger garlic,poppy seeds,coriander,pudina leaves and green chillies

Grind the coconut and take 2 cup diluted coconut milk.

  • Heat a cooker with ghee and oil saute with cloves, bay leaf, star anise and cinnamon.

  • Add sliced onion and coriander powder and saute well.

  • Add grinded paste and saute well.

  • Add salt to taste, little turmeric powder,2 cups of coconut milk and boil it well.


  • Add the soaked basmati rice and cook for 1 whistle.


  • Add the soaked basmati rice and cook for 1 whistle.

  • Plain biryani is ready.


Garnish with roasted nuts and onion.

  • Serve with any non-veg gravies.

Clean it and cut into rings.

 Add squid with 1 tspn of pepper,1/4 tspn turmeric,2 tspn of crushed ginger garlic paste, salt, curry leaves and 1/2 a cup of water and cook it for 4 to 5 whistles.

  • Heat a pan with little oil add onions and green chilli and saute well.

  • Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and pepper powder and saute well.

  • Add finely chopped tomato and saute well.

  • Add capsicum and saute well.

  • Add cooked squid with the above and add salt to taste and cook it in a low flame till oil separates.

Colorful yummy squid roast is ready to serve.

    Capsicum(red,green,yellow) cut into small pcs -1 bowl
    Curry leaves needed
    Salt to taste
    Coconut oil -needed


Method :
