Fish Tikka Recipe

Fish Tikka

Fish is a low fat high quality protein

Fish is rich in calcium and phosphorus and a great source of minerals such as Iron, Zinc,Iodine etc.....

Ingredients :

Sankara fish/ Red snapper -3 nos(medium size)
Tamarind pulp -1 1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder -1/2 tspn
Coriander seeds-1/2 tspn
Cumin seeds-1/2 tspn
Dry red chilli -2 nos
Cinnamon -1 pcs
Corn flour -1 tspn
Curry leaves needed
Salt to taste
Coconut oil needed


    For grinding :

    ***********
    Coriander -1/2 tspn
    Cumin -1/2 tspn
    Dry red chilli -2 nos
    Cinnamon  - 1 pcs


Method of preparation:

  • Wash and clean the fish pieces well.
  • Heat a pan with little oil, add coriander,cumin,dry chilli, cinnamon and fry well.
  • Grind the masala and add required salt, turmeric powder to the tamarind pulp and mix well.Masala paste is ready.

  • Coat the masala paste evenly on the fish.
  • Spray corn flour above the fish and marinate the fish tikka for 1/2 an hour and fry in a dosa tawa with little oil.

  • Fry well in a low flame till golden brown & crisp.
  • Fish tikka is ready.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and sliced onions.
  • Serve it with rice and rasam.
  • Adding corn flour fish tikka will be crispy.

Ingredients:

Small onion -1/2 cup

Chilli Powder -1 tspn

Black pepper -1 tspn

Turmeric Powder -1/4 tspn

Curry leaf -needed

Salt to taste

Coconut oil -3 tspn


Method:

Grind the ingredients to paste.

Marinate the fish pieces with the paste and keep it for 2 hours.

Heat the tawa with little oil and roast the fish pieces in low flame.

Take out the fish after it becomes golden brown.

Crispy Fish Fry is ready.

Fish Kuzhambu (Chettinadu style)









Ingredients :


Small fish -1/2 kilo

Small onion -200 gms

Tomato -200 gms

Gingelly oil -2 tspn

Salt to taste

Tamarind - Lemon sized


For grinding :

Coconut -1/2 cup

Red chilli -5

coriander -4 tspn

black pepper - 1 tspn

Cumin seeds -/2 tspn

Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tspn


For sauting :


Mustard seeds - 1/2 tspn

Red chilli -2

Fenugreek -1/2 tspn

Curry leaves -needed


Method :


Clean the fish well.

Heat the mud pot with gingelly oil and saute it with mustard,fenugreek,red chillies and curry leaves.

Add small onion and saute it well.

Add tomato saute well.

Add grinded masala to it and saute well.

Add tamarind water and salt to taste.

Boil it till the raw smell goes off.

Add fish and simmer it for 10 minutes.

Dont use spoon to stir,just shake the pot to mix evenly.

Garnish with curry leaves.
