Squid fish/kanava meen kuzhambu



This is one of my Mom's special Dish...She used to grind the ingredients in a Traditional Way..with the help of Grinding Stone (Ammi kal) ...so the natural fragrence and the taste are the Highlights.

Ingredients:

Cleaned Squid -250 grams
                                       
Coriander seed -2 tspn

Red chillies -5 pcs

Small onion -5 pcs

Black pepper -15 pcs

Grated coconut -1/4 cup

Tamarind -needed

Raw mango -sliced 1 to 6 pcs

Drumstick -half sliced 7 pcs

Salt to taste

Curry leaves- needed

Gingelly oil -2 tspn

Method:

Heat a pan with oil and add coriander,chillies,onion and pepper  and roast it well.

Add coconut to it and grind into fine paste.

Add tamarind and salt to taste.

Add required quantity of water and boil it.

Add raw mangoes and drumstick pieces.

Add squid and boil it in low flame till oil separates.

Garnish with curry leaves.

Squid gravy is ready to serve.
