Fish curry (south indian style)







Ingredients :

Fish -1/4 kilo

Tamarind -5o gms

Turmeric powder -1 spn

Green chillies -3 nos

Small onion -100 gms

Garlic -6 pcs

Chilli powder - 1/2 spn

coriander powder -1/2 spn

Tomato -75 gms

Gingelly oil -2 tspn

Cumin seeds -1 tspn

Mustard seeds -1/2 tspn

Fenugreek seeds -1 tspn

Black pepper -1 tspn

Salt - needed

Curry leaves needed


Method :

Chop onion,tomato into small pieces.

Grind pepper ,cumin seeds to powder.

Make tamarind paste.

Cut green chillies in lengthwise.

Crush garlic.

Heat the mud pot with gingelly oil and saute with fenugreek,mustard and crushed garlic.

Add onion and saute well.

Add green chillies and tomatoes and saute well.

Add water to tamarind paste and filter it.

Add turmeric,chilli powder,coriander powder and salt to the tamarind solution.

Mix it well.

Pour the solution to the pan and add grinded pepper,cumin powder and boil it for 10 minutes.

Finally add fish pieces and cook it for sometimes.

Garnish with curry leaves.

Spicy fish curry is ready to serve.
